Runtime error 372 is a glitch associated with the Microsoft Visual Basic software, one that occurs when attempting to load an ImageList control. Although the error is a very big problem, it’s caused by one of the most important types of file in your system – which means that in order to fix it, you have to be able to repair any of the issues that will be leading the file to show problems.

Runtime error 372 also might cause other computer errors like FltMgr.sys Error, Error 0x0000c1f5, MSVCP100.dll Error, etc.

There are several issues that can generate a Runtime error 372. One is a conflict of color depth within icons, the desktop or a particular application. In the Visual Basic environment. This error may occur if the ImageList control consists of more colors than the depth of what the Windows desktop can actually support.

Sometimes the 372 error message will tell you which file needs to be replaced. The error message will display something similar to; “mscomcth.ocx file missing.” This message means the installation process cannot find the operating system file mscomcth.ocx. Of course, you could go to the Microsoft website and download and install this file, but there is one very important piece of information missing in this whole scenario.

The main cause of errors here will be the “color depth” settings for your PC. This basically allows your computer to find the settings and options that it requires to run and will basically allow your computer to process the settings to run correctly. You can do this here:

  • Edit the icons to use a lower color depth (use 8-bit color instead of 16-bit, 24-bit, or 32-bit), and then recompile the Visual Basic application by using the lower color depth.
  • Increase the color depth on the computer that the application is running on. To change the color depth, follow these steps:
  1. On the Windows desktop, right-click Properties.
  2. Click the Settings tab.
  3. Under Color Quality, click to select a higher number of display colors.
  • Click Apply, and then click OK.

The best way to fix run time error 372 is to install a registry cleaner like Advanced PC Tweaker on your computer. This program is very effective and extremely easy to use, relying on advanced technology to scan the registry, detect and automatically repair your system. With the Advanced PC Tweaker in hand, you can eliminate the dreaded Runtime error 372 error and keep your PC running at optimal levels.

Are there any programs that scan all PC hardware for problems?
I suspect there is hardware failing somewhere in my computer and I was about to begin using the different test programs available for testing the different hardware components (like memtest), but I was wondering if anyone can suggest any good tools or programs that can run a full test of all PC hardware for potential and existing problems. Do there exist any single program that scans your hard drive, motherboard, system memory, and peripheral cards (video, audio, network, etc.) for potential and existing problems?

Thanks for all your help in advance!

How can I fix the pc error “A network cable is unplugged.”?
I have checked all the cables and tried different ones in their place. I have updated the driver and ensured it is correctly working. Yet I still get the “A network cable is unplugged” popping up every 15-20 seconds. I can still use the internet, but it is extremely slow.

What does a flashing error code 1 mean on a Bosch wfk 2800 washing machine?
What does a flashing error code 1 mean on a Bosch wfk 2800 washing machine?
The machine stops and beeps during the main wash, or during rinsing, but continues washing if we push the ‘start’ button. Any potential solutions would be great, as we can only use it at the mo if we intend on staying in the house until the cycle is done!

    Many thanks!

I got an error code 721 when trying to connect to my network?
My network has been set up for a few months now. Over the past few days, when I try to log in, I get an error code 721. It doesn’t connect and I’m left off the network. All the other computers seem to work fine, it’s just this one computer. Is there any way I can get around this problem?

My Xbox 360 has 1 red ring and has the error code E 74. It is past the 1 year warranty and I don’t want to pay 100 bucks to get it fixed. Is there anyway to make the Xbox have the 3 rings so Microsoft can fix it for free? Or is it easier to try and fix it myself?
