The 0x0000c1f5 Error is a blue screen error which is caused by Windows being unable to correctly load up the important options which it requires to run various pieces of hardware. We’ve found that this error is mainly the result of your PC not having the correct driver information for the “Common Log File System” (clfsys.sys) – which is used to help a number of important software programs to load up.

Blue screen 0x0000c1f5 error also might cause other computer errors like Msvcr71.dll error, C00002la Fatal System Error, Mscomctl Ocx Error, etc.

The Error 0x0000c1f5 turns up if the $TxfLog file has been compromised due to damages or corruption. The malfunction of this file is supposed to be repaired by the Common Log File System driver but when this does not happen, then the error will be a warning message that says this:
“0x0000C1F5″.

This error can also be experienced if somehow, the Windows Vista files were not configured correctly. Whatever the reason, this error will stop Windows Vista from loading and you will not be able to load the PC properly. If you want to learn how to fix the error on your computer, then you have to read the instructions below. This tutorial will teach you how to do it properly and deal with the error.

One of the main causes of “Stop 0x0000c1f5″ is a corruption in the $TxfLog file. Once this file becomes corrupt, the Common Log File System driver will not fix it. Vista will not be functioning until the $TxfLog file is removed. If your system has multiple disks, you should have to remove the disk that contains the corrupt $TxfLog file.
In case of only one disk, it is better to restart the system using Windows XP or Windows 2000. Once you have done this, you have to format the corrupt disk and then reinstall Vista.

Another solution you can try is to use HotFix of windows in order to make a resolution to the error. Find it from the Microsoft official website that is available in the form of Microsoft updates. There, select the corresponding hotfix related with Vista operating system. Type your email address and finally click on the Request hotfix button to request hotfix. After confirmation, you can resolve the error easily.

Registry related issue can also be among the reasons for 0x0000c1f5 error. The registry gets corrupted or damaged if the files in it get spoilt and because of loads of files getting accumulated in it. You should have to remove the unwanted files and also repair the damaged files. The registry can be cleaned manually and also with registry cleaning software. Cleaning the registry manually is a risk as there are chances of losing important files. Moreover, it takes some time for cleaning the registry. On the other hand, registry-cleaning software like Advanced PC Tweaker will do all the cleaning without harming the valuable files.
