The 2932 error normally shows when you are trying to update Microsoft Office 2000 with the “Service Release 1″ package. There are certain perameters which, when true, can make this error appear, such as when the user is using Windows 2000, or Office 2000 is installed on an NTFS drive. To do away with the error message, you need to identify and solve the problems with the damaged files and settings. This tutorial will help you find work out how to fix the internal error 2932.

The error may present itself as:

  • Internal Error 2932: Please contact product support for assistance.

There are few other causes behind this error which are as follows. Error appears when following conditions are true.

  1. MS office was installed when you login as a power user to your system
  2. Operating System Windows 2000 is installed on an NTFS partition
  3. You are installing update on Windows 2000 system
  4. Installing MS Office Service Release 1 on the machine

A combination of these elements causes the SR1 update to crash and display internal error 2932. The error may appear serious but is usually only caused by slight defects, such as a corrupt installation file or a broken registry string. These can easily be resolved by following the simple steps below.

How To Fix Error 2932

Step 1 – Download The Office 2000 SR1 Program From The Internet
The first thing to do to fix this error is to download the Office 2000 SR1 package from the Internet and place it on your hard drive. In many instances, the “Windows Update” feature will either corrupt this file, or download the wrong one – making it impossible for your computer to use it. Downloading the package directly to your hard drive, and then installing it that way, will allow your PC to run smoothly and effectively; and could stop the 2932 error in its tracks.

Step 2 – Update Windows
The SR-1 update conflicts with Windows if the above parameters were true. Microsoft are aware of this problem and have released updates that should deal with the issue. To update Windows, you should:

  • Get the latest service pack for Windows 2000
  • Install service pack
  • Attempt to install SR-1 update again

Since Microsoft only release updates and hotfixes for Windows 2000 in the form of service packs, you should make sure that you download the latest service pack available and install it. This should help deal with the issue.

Step 3 – Clean Out The Registry
Registry cleaners can play a very important role in how well Windows operates, and can help stop error code 2932. The registry is basically a central database which stores vital settings and information for your system, allowing Windows to remember a huge number of details for your PC. Unfortunately, the registry is also prone to becoming corrupt, leaving your system running extremely slowly and unreliably. To fix this problem, you should use Advanced PC Tweaker to scan through your registry and repair any of the damaged parts of it that are causing your computer to run extremely slowly or with errors.

Can’t figure out what’s wrong with my PC, problems turning on?
When I turn on the button on the tower, the green light goes on and I can hear it running pretty loudly but it doesn’t make the monitor turn on. The monitor’s yellow light is on but it won’t work. Whenever the computer beeps when i turn the tower button on it won’t work, but sometimes if I leave it running and then shut it off then on again it won’t beep and will work again. I know it can’t be a problem with the monitor itself because that turns on. Anyone have any suggestions?

How do I fix this PC with continuous error messages?
There is a PC in my household that is completely useless. I think it is running windows 2000. Every time I try to access any icons or even the start menu I get an error message like “Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service” or something regarding memory being low :S. I’m confused. Is there a simple fix to this, like wiping everything? I mainly use my mac and just need a desktop for the leisurely browsing and occasional typing.
